Frequently asked questions

Getting Ready for Class is Easy

We know that walking into the academy for the first time can be a big step, so we make sure the process is as simple as possible. You don't need any special equipment or previous experience to start—just a desire to learn!

Here is all you need for your first class:

Comfortable Athletic Wear

Wear a standard Dri-fit T-shirt or "rash guard" and athletic shorts or leggings. We recommend clothing without zippers, buttons, or pockets, as these can get caught during training.

Water Bottle

You’re going to get a great workout!

Forgot your water bottle? No problem! We have chilled water available for sale in the lobby.

A Pair of Sandals/Flip-Flops

In Jiu Jitsu, we train barefoot on the mats, but we wear shoes anytime we step off the mats to keep our training environment clean and safe.

Positive Attitude

This is the most important thing you can bring! Our community is here to support you, and every belt in the room started exactly where you are today.

We’ve Got the Rest Covered!
If the class you are attending requires a "Gi" (the traditional uniform)
We have clean loaner uniforms available for you during your trial.

We’ll even show you how to tie the belt!
